CHASE BAG COMPANY

The Chase Bag Company Buildling is a historic renovation and adaptive reuse to apartments. It is located in the Historic Old Town District of the Kansas City, Missouri riverfront area, also referred to as The River Market. The Case Building, which was built in 1922, is on the National Register of Historic Places. The four-story uniquely shaped buildling accomodates 35 loft apartments.

The building is of light frame floor construction with masonry bearing walls. The interior structural system consists of exposed steel beams and columns. The present building remains with only minor modifications from its original construction. Exterior walls are masonry with steel sash windows and decorative brick detailing. Floors are wood and in good condition. The interior appearance is comprised of exposed brick, riveted steel beams and columns and wood frame ceilings. Wood ceillings have an average height of twelve feet and complete the setting for a creative adaptive reuse of the Chase Bag Company Building.
